Wandering Lights – A4 size –

Wandering Lights

“ Three white spirits appeared, like sisters, wandering lights in the misty meadow “witte wieven” we call them in our dutch folklore, Witte Wieven (also known as Wittewijven) are spirits of wise women or elven beings. often hauntingly scary. Folkore of European countries told of ghostly lights seen by travelers at night. Especially over bogs, swamps and marshes. The lights, it was told, were often fairies or elemental beings that would guide lost travelers out of the woods, but in some stories, the spirits have been known tobe sinister, leading wanderers deeper into the woods only to extinguish their flame abruptly, leaving the person farther from their path home and in complete darkness…

But these are soft and friendly ones, like guardian angels or three wise queens.

And who’s living in the tree…?

With Love and Magic,
Meg.
